Re: Grey Motor Head overhaul

Hi Rob
Just got back from my 3 weeks away in the UK.
Have just read your updates on my carby saga .... some incredible work there, Sir. It's WAY beyond my capabilities, so I am very appreciative of your efforts to restore it back to functional.
I'll give you a call tomorrow (Sunday) and have a ...

Re: Grey Motor Head overhaul

Thanks Harv

That's a really great explanation of the very low end fuel delivery. I'll definitely clean those transfer holes out.

So for yours and especially Rob's info ... I swapped out the carbs today while Bathurst played in the background, and got some great initial results.

First start very ...

Re: Grey Motor Head overhaul

Thanks for the visit and your expertise, Rob.

It's a real bonus to hear that the various symptoms didn't amount to my erroneous guess of a head gasket issue. Phew ....

I concur that the carby is most likely the issue producing that very odd miss. I''ll throw your spare carby on asap and report ...

2 Speed Preslite Wiper Motor swap

Hey Guys

I've picked up a 2 speed Preslite wiper motor (tested and working) .... I'm keen to swap out the original single speed job.

I have researched how to swap them over ... can't seem to find anything about swapping the motor itself. Lots of info on the Commodore wiper motor upgrade ... but ...

Thanks for the responses, Guys.

Im actually already running finned drums on the front (not the originals) .. but saw another set for sale.

Could have swore that I had tried new EH drums some years back on the stock EK set up ... but seem to remember that they binded once the rims were tighten up ...

Hey Guys and Gals

A few questions re brake drums.

- Whats the dimensions of stock brake drums ? Either the diameter of the inner drum lining OR the drum wall measurement. Obviously trying to understand how much material is on new drums.

- Any detail on what the limits of machining are ... ie ...

Bosch Distributor Numbering

Hi Guys

Can someone explain the difference between Bosch distributor U-VJU6BR50 (GMH 7417802) ... and U-VJU6BR54 ?

My EK has a nasty ignition miss that new plugs, points, leads, cap, button, condenser, coil etc hasn't resolved ... so looking at a dizzy swap.

Mine is a BR50 ... but checking that a ...
