2 pack epoxy is the best product to use it has excellent adhesion to bare steel and unlike etch and other primers it is not porous, best thing to do now is to read the paint company's technical data sheet to see what their next step is that way you know your doing it right, some company's require it ...

i repaired and painted the one in my ute, first i etch primed it then 2 pak primed it, left it to hardnen up then rubbed it down then top coat

thanks john, there were many a day when i did consider selling as an unfinished project, i even offered it to sam princi at the start of the year but glad i didn't sell it, feels good to finish it and get some use out of it :)

don't get me wrong i love this ute and it is very regrettable that it is for sale, i would love to keep it and put a chev in it, but selling it is part of a long term goal i'm working towards, if its any consolation part of that goal includes either an fb or ek wagon definetly chev powered! :D

yeah ratbox i really only painted the bars etc as the chrome wasn't good enough and its way cheaper, after fitting the bars i reckon it would've looked better without over riders but you get that!
gaz yeah that was my place, it was only half in undercoat when you were here, boy that was a long time ...

thanks for the comments, cant wait to get registered so i can lower it as its way too high, need to replace a few suspension bushes etc so it will pass a roadworthy then finish the scallop work and add the lakes pipes and dummy spots and i'll be happy :) :) oh and speaking of stolen ideas the trim ...

check out this link, this is the stuff to use dont even waste your time using normal masking tape as for painting over stickers as long as it is in sound condition then it will be fine
