Re: *** Nationals Sawtell Saturday Sign-On 100 Pics

Great pictures Steve,

Came along to spectate and was really impressed with the variety of cars both original and modified. A real credit to all the owners present. I bet the bargain shop in sawtell made a killing on umbrellas with the weather.

On the subject of "fred" I liked the shannons placard ...

Re: It was a Monaro - Funny story

Quite frankly anyone who would buy the high dollar sale cars would want to see the original paperwork confirming numbers match etc, and would be well advised to get an enthusiast for that model confirm its originality.

The ones that have gone for $200K + have always been confirmed providence cars ...

Nice work Dakam, love the colour combo.

Were you the guy trying to track down his old red and white FB for a while? If so there's one on ebay now that looks the same.

That's unbelievable Steve :D You've amassed a great collection. I don't think kleptomania is the right word for it (unless Steve's stolen them  )

Each to their own opinion. The car is a custom so indivdual tastes are always going to vary.

As a custom it looks fantastic. Great work and attention to detail everywhere. From both the inside and the outside this car is going to stop people in their tracks (which is the obviously what you want to ...

Ratbox is right, I bought it from a guy at Ulladulla who had had just picked it up from the property between Wyangla Dam and Cowra.

I took a day trip out and saw the old guy who had previously owned it in the hope that he might have some more parts for it. He still had the driver's door trim (the ...

Found the van on ebay about 2 years ago. In fact it was my first ebay purchase. My wife had a grudge against ebay for some time after that :?
She's come around now. She likes the idea that one day we will be able to cart our St Bernard dog around in the back :D

Thanks Trev for fixing up my first attempt at loading photos. I'll give it another go and see if it works. First 2 photos are when I picked up the van.
Being just a shell it was loaded on a pallet and put on the trailer with a forklift. To get it off at home was very tricky.
I had to park the ...

Who are Bob and Evelyn? Sounds like an interesting twist to the story I haven't heard yet. The guy I bought it off was named Mick. He got both my van and the shortened coupe from a guy called Megsy (lives near Ratbox) obviously with the intention of making a few bucks on ebay. He basically offloaded ...

G'day,

Plan to keep the body and driveline to stock specs (I have always dreamed of a V8 FB van, but can't bring myself to cut this one up).
Mag wheels from FB/EK member yaprat c/- ebay. I also plan to have a stock set as well.

Good point about patina. My wife nearly divorced me when she saw it ...

My FB Van

Here are some pictures of my FB van I've had for about 2 years. Only done about a weeks wortht of work on it in that time, but a new shed (being built soon)
should make it easier to work on. So far I've cleaned out the inside and painted all the floors and inside of panels with rust primer.
Still ...
