It's been a while since I been on and only a few things have been done on The EK but with my nite shift work and my daily driver getting a gremlin The EK has been paused for the last few months.

It's on the road ( :roll: once every few sunday mornings :roll: ),,,
but still no rego ,,, :cry: so bit sad that I won't get to take it to the AHD on Sunday, Cooling & backfires are still a bit of a worry but during all this heat havn't been game to take it out and havn't much time to tinker down ...

Got a 253 in mine but I didn''t fit it,,, sorry :( ... but 253's, 308's. 350's all fit but brakes have to be disc's on the front and the sub frame has to be strenthend ect. ect.. ect.. ect.. ect.
But don't give up, coz Ek's go great with a V8!!!!!!

I got stuck on the 1/4 windows a while ago and Blacky sent me this, not sure how to quote from anouther post so I cut&pasted this.
It might help you out :) but I kept my 1/4 windows but I was mighty tempted to go 1 piece.

Hi All,
I think the trouble is timing as the carby was doing BIG backfires when you gave it even just a little gas.
The distributor seems loose so I turned it counter clockwise and it actually fired up with no carby backfires. Took for a slow run down to mobile an all good, filled up and driving ...

Well your post will be a big help on the EK doors. It's in the shop today n tomorrow just hoping it's being looked after :roll: I might find out how much rare spares charges becuase I never even knew they did that sort of thing...well

Hi,
I know this is an old post but I'm hopin somebody out there is still reading it.
I ended up getting my front door seals from rare spares. It says in the instructions that the door must be removed for the rubbers to be instaled corectly. :shock: Call me chicken but I really want to avoid doing ...

Well with your help it's out
and one thing I had to add to it coz all i have is a high speed drill with no reverse. Got an easy out bit from alltools (never been there before but they know there stuff)

just a thought
Just a thought..... I was watching "biker build off" on foxtel and they put a porcalin coating on a bike frame. Came up grey/silver, with a matt/satin finish but on the show they never said if it comes in a variety of colors, or just the one? ....but it looked very cool 8)

Well the screw is still in (soaking in WD40) Went up to look for the easy-outs or screw extractors but for one the size I need they said I'll have to go to a specialty tool store it will be pricey and something that small may snap. A price of a dremel was about $85, the jumbo pack ...

Don't know if it's much help to you but my EK sedan has a tow bar fitted. If you want measurments or a photo of mine to see if it is the same as yours just send me a PM or e-mail me an I'll be glad to help if I'm able.
Pretty sure fb-ek sedan rear floor pans where the same, not sure on utes ...

Hi All!,
I knew this screw was knackered but trying to remove it I found it's stuck too. :shock: Mabey it's cross threaded? not to sure but the screw doesn't want to budge :roll: forward,or back.

...that 'bolt/post' should be still attached to the chrome surround the glass fits into, when & if you (can) remove the nut/washer then the chrome frame should lift out, the post will fit throught the rubber gasket then replace the nut, washer etc etc ...
