Free: Powerglide parts

I have Powerglide automatic transmission parts removed from a 6-cylinder HK Holden. I suspect these are identical to the V8 parts, but am no Powerglide expert. I have the output shaft, speedo drive gear, planet carrier, reverse clutch assembly, extension housing and convertor.

Parts are in good ...

That's a fancy bottle-o protective screen. The last time we went through Wilcannia (about 28 years ago, in a VK Calais and van) the screens were plain concrete reo mesh.

Could have been worse, if it had of been my luck I would have found it after doing a timing gear half way across the Nullabor.

Safe travels for tomorrow mate.

Welch plug size, rear of cylinder head?

A quick question please - can someone confirm for me the size of the welch plug that it located in the rear of the grey motor cylinder head? I would normally go and measure it for myself, but am a very, very long way from home.

With this data, I can steer Number One Son to the box of mixed welch ...

1200 people all out for a days outing on a picnic train... times have truly changed. My grandmother was old enough to remember the funeral trains that ran from Mortuary Station in Sydney out to Rookwood Cemetery. The station is still a beautiful building.

Re: Crankshaft Harmonic Balancer

The movement between the crank and damper looked like two things:

a) the damper ID was huge compared to the crank snout OD. Even with the key absent, those two parts should be a pretty good interference fit. Yours looked like you could almost rotate the balncer on its own by hand. Check both with a ...
