Re: SA All Holden Day 2025

Now that made me smile. It takes a different kind of person to own an old Holden. Many people would baulk at a 900km drive. Then there are those comfortable enough to take a 75 year old vehicle, black with 4-and-80 air, some form of engine complaint (and no cupholders  ) and make the ...

Re: Eddie

Hopefully the fronts are grabby and not the rears.

Could be the difference in bore size. HR front drum slaves are 1.06" bore. FB/EK are 1.1875".

Does it still grab if the booster vacuum line is disconnected and plugged?

From memory, when the power brakes first came out there was a warning sticker ...

Did Rob’s humpy make the journey and back OK after the fuel issues? That thing does a lot of miles.

Re: Neil's FB Station Wagon

I found the same thing with Number 2 Daughter’s 2009 Corolla. It needed at fuel filter change at 80,000km. Got a Ryco replacement, and it was huge - same setup, and you replace almost all that white housing to swap out the filter element… $250 for the filter/housing with me doing the labour. Glad it ...

Re: Harv's FED thread

Minor delay on getting the EKMart block back from Galloway. Plan had been to dowel the head to the block, so that the wire o-rings above each cylinder line up with their receiver grooves. Intention was to drill out one of the block bolt holes 5mm or so (and a similar hole in the head), and use a ...

Re: Harv's FED thread

HSD, SPS and Galloway... now that sounds familiar :). Takes a while to get stuff through that trio, though from what I have seen their work is spot-on.

Being realistic, I reckon I've got mebbe a 10% chance of making DotD. The lineup of busted kids cars in my driveway isn't getting any shorter. It ...

Re: Harv's FED thread

Finally got round to balancing the slicks… kind of...

They mounted the second wheel, and spun it up... The machine was asking for 800g of weight...

... will check with M/T to see if they will warranty.

Patience is a virtue.

One tyre balanced OK, one tyre wants 800g of weight. M/T warrantied ...
