brake pedal causes engine to rev harder.

i know it sounds like i may have been drinking, but i kid you not.
we are still using the drum brake system, i am not sure about the brake booster's?
you know i had to muster the courage up to post this as it sounds like i am just making it up, but i have other people who have seen and heard it for ...

putting the brakes on makes the car run harder

hi all
i have a problem with the fb, when i use the brakes the engine rev's more. it happens even if the choke isnt out, the car is idle.
help :)

thanks for the input all.
we drive our fb which isnt pictured just to confuse everyone.
sadly the ek is 5 years under the car cover. its the ek in the picture. our fb is yellow and white and is registered.
so until the funds and time etc etc is found the ek is on hold. the ek is all original, and ...

thanks for the information.
the car is our daily driver so i need to know that it is in good shape.
and you never know, one day i might get to go on one of the cruises so its got to be running well.

trust worthy mechanics??

hello everyone
i am looking to find someone to do the stuff on our FB.
as we have no mecanical knowledge what so ever. . . . . we have to rely on the mechanic for everything.
we live in merrylands and a mechanic somewhere near by would be great.
dont want much :)

I washed the fb today and had no idea what to use on the chrome, as usual Smooth has the answer, and lots more about everything Holden.

leaking fuel tank

hi all

removed the bog :( from on top of the tank. filled tank with petrol and there was a veritable flood at the top of the tank. had to drive around with all the windows open as the smell is so strong. we are thinking of taking the ek fuel tank and putting it into the fb, any advice on that ...

thanks everyone,
We havent tried anything, except lighting a smoke and I'm still here :D
The length of the exhaust isnt the problem, and i dont think it matters how much fuel is in the tank.
The smell is stronger when you open the boot.
We will investigate the areas that you have mentioned.

hello all, we recently purchased a FB, we have already had some work done on the brakes ( drum ) and a head gasket replacement :?.
We know very little about cars, just that we love the FB's and the EK's
( we also have an EK tucked away under its car cover )
