Re: FB Standard Wagon

I’ve got the filter before the pump buts it’s horizontal and looks to only be filled to half level all the time.

A vertical position may be a better option

Re: harvs ek 327 wagon

It’s a wonder I didn’t set the wagon on fire. Changing the oil out should have been a ½ hour job… not a full day. Got a new oil filter ready, and even bought one of those shiny new Ryco oil filter sockets. Dropped the oil out, and found out that my fancy new Chev sump holds 6½ litres… cause my drai...

Re: FB Standard Wagon

I reckon you will be fine running Strombergs with the later non-glass pump and no pressure reg. GMH ran that same needle and seat the same way (until the BX carbs died out in the 80's) without flooding. Strommies are happy at 2.5-4.5psi. A Holley is a little more tolerant (up to 7psi), whilst SUs a...

Re: FB Standard Wagon

No worries Clay that all makes sense so I’ll just leave the pump as it is. I was only concerned as I’ve hat people warn me that the later ‘Non glass bowl’ pumps push too mush due through and can hold the needles open causing flooding and making the carbies weep. I did contact Goss and from memory th...

Re: FB Standard Wagon

Found the culprit. Cheap fuel regulator must have packed its internals in, removed it and filled the gap with some hose. I got warned they don’t last long, it didn’t even get out my driveway. Commodore fuel pump puts out 4psi so I’ll have to keep an eye on it to see if it causes carby issues. But ru...

Re: FB Standard Wagon

I also just realised I didn’t have the earth terminal tight.

Paul Calder did say if it’s not earth well it will fry the ignition module.

Do these Ignition modules die completely or can they still work and run like a bag of shit if damaged?

It’s a Bosch BIM024

Re: FB Standard Wagon

Just had a weird experience with the car. Changed the plugs to BP-4 which is a bit hotter than the BP-5, I did this because my motor is higher compression than standard. I also topped it up with 91 fuel. Geez it ran like a bucket of shit. Drained the fuel and topped up with 98. Still ran like shit. ...

Re: Replacement Headlight Switch

Hey guys just about to pull the trigger on a HR headlight switch from Rares to fit into my wagon.

Does the FB knob & shaft fit into a HR switch ?
Same for the mounting nut and plastic bezel surround?

Cheers Drew
