Door Skin Replacement

Post by Mick Jagger »

Skin repair/fitment ,from a skin fitment Virgin 1/half hours work.
I always wanted to be a panel beater.
step one, grind down the perimeter till it splits
grind spots as they stop you lifting the inner skin,
grind the spots on the outer skin ,start to lift, grind the top parts
off she comes,48 years the innards love to see the sun,
dont rush to close it,clean and treat it
bang on a new skin and away you go.
Dont really know how to do it right I hope it helps someone
Cheers Jase 8)

I made the mistake of removing the full door skin thinking I could buy one off the shelf, think again, there are none, got an offer to make one for $500 +

Hi Guy's I am new to this conversation. I need door skins or at least halves and it appears we can't get'em. Not even at rare spares??
Is there a reason for this? They seem to have everything else.

Grrrr
If in doubt..chop it.
