Brodie's EK.
What I mean't was to space the dual circuit HK-WB master cyl ( only ) out from the firewall with a spacer and extended pushrod to clear the hinge and springs and then mounting a remote booster ( say for example.... under the right guard ?? ) and use front boost only brakes.Brodie wrote:Yep, thats the planFB MAD wrote: Maybe you might still be able to do it but make up a spacer between booster and firewall to clear the hinge and make up a lengthened pushrod??
Just not gonna change the springs. If its gettin spaced out the extension tube thingo should be well clear of the springs too..
You lost me a little there, whats the spacer for with a remote booster?I have a dual circuit HK/WB M/cylinder here at home that bolts direct to existing FB/EK firewall holes with an approx 4 inch spacer ( to use with a remote booster ) and was thinking the same idea with spacer and HK master/vac system.
....
Or
Use a HK/T/G master/vac system ( dual circuit M/Cyl bolted to the Booster ) and then bolt that assembly to the firewall with a spacer/ext pushrod to clear the hinges and spring.
Hope that makes sense
I can't think what to write here so this will do.
This a pic of my a HK brake booster with an original off set bracket, it fits next to the hinge but the spring has to be removed.
The shaft still comes out of the brake hole on the fire wall and connects to a bracket that extends it about 2 inches over, they are not a bolt straight on set up but with a few holes drilled and a few welded up (on the bracket not the fire wall) it is a really good set up.
I got this idea off Roger (creator of the trimatic to grey motor kit).
Trev .

That was also my first though too Trev...But then you could also make the 'off set bracket' accommodate the clutch master cylinder inside it with a few clever cuts.Trev wrote:Ummmmm, whats a clutchBrodie wrote: Trev, nice setup.. But wheres my clutch m/cyl gonna go

Re: Brodie's EK.
Howdyyyy...
Finally managed to get some paint on, most of the smaller parts i just did with some pressure pack but they came up okay..
Paint mix on the diff, front end and gear box is a mix of black and silver, its like a metallic charcoal.. Just something other than straight black... it looks alright. Theres quite a few faults through it but my prep work wasnt great (i can only clean so much till i start going loopey ) and its my daily driver not a show car so idc .
Leafs are in, diffs ready to go..
Been waiting for AGERS for bits to come for my front end.. Its holding me up now, i cant put it back together
Got a twin throat strommy and manifold..
Also gave the extractors a go over with some 'potbelly' black, worked a treat
On a down side, no way in the world am i going to have it going in time for my P's
