Plod Plod Plod,
Got the wiring sorted on the floor bench, the old plug and play is nice but it would be messy in the engine bay so I have to split it and use two different looms that were supplied by Holley.
Unfortunately I will need to undo most of my existing loom and start again !!

Just the wiring now, all the fuel lines and regulator are done.

Still a few more days work, Oh well Rome wasn't built in a day.

We know it is going to be done right Greg. It will need to be so you can chase the SA cars to Bunbury.

Done a good days work yesterday and into the night,
I had to pull most of the interior out to get at all the wiring.

Decided to put the fuel pump relay under the back seat and run the wiring through the rear rail and to the battery direct. I have also run the main computer supply direct to the battery, Holley is specific about this to limit any electrical interference that may occur.

Tip number 97, try and keep your ignition and fuel pump circuits seperate from your main loom. If you ever want to change it and its all tied in, well you will need to start again !!!!!!!
Should be able to finish this off today and test the fuel circuit for leaks.

Sooooo,
Ive finally finished this upgrade and ran it for the first time today. Initially the pipes were glowing at idle so I adjusted the timing then the revs went up and i couldn't get them down. Mmmmm, recheck TDC and re align the dizzy, yep something was amis and it settled and started its learning.
It does sound much better than the old set up, the fuel pump is quiet and the injector pulse is just noticable.
Im Going to drive it in the next couple of days, adjust anything it needs then try and create a graph of my driving habits to keep on file if it ever looses the memory. Im excited to see what it actually runs like.

I will carpet up the boot area and put a wheel cover over the spare, still pleny of room for tools and a bag or two !!
Its never goint to cary much whilst i have it anyway.
Ill update the performance gain on the sniper 2 and whether i think all this work was worth it in the next week.

Great work Greg, you must be itching to get it out on the road and compare the performance with the increase in compression and the fuel set up. Look forward to reading your report

I hope it goes as good as it looks mate. We can compare mileage on the way to Bunbury.

Ha Ha ha, I'll need to keep the tall diff in it ! I'm pretty sure that fuel economy will be the least of my worries if I do the cross.
Still tossing up how the hell i'm going to get across, at this stage it maybe work that stops it as i've just had a promotion and its been busy.
I could always resign sell a leg and bingo i'm there !
We will see.

Well im impressed,
The new sniper 2 injection is just brilliant, there is instant start, no coughing or missing, great throttle response and from what i can tell so far heaps better fuel economy. I have mashed the pedal a couple of times and it goes instantly !!
It did take quite an effort although, and would it have been simpler with a carby, probably, but in saying that it was very satisfying to plug and play (almost) and have it run straight away. The ability to alter timing, rpm all from the palm of your hand is also a joy.
What i had to do,
Install Holley sniper 2 throttle body and remake the accelerator linkage brackets
Install Hyperspark dizzy, easy
Install hyperspark control box, wiring
Install hyperspark coil, wiring
New 60psi regulator and braided fuel lines.
Modify fuel lines to suit the new Fraud BA in tank pump
New tank and mounting
New sender unit and wiring
Upgrade alternator from 55 amp to 85 amp
Remake filler neck
Fabricate new boot floor
Relocate tail pipes
Put the car back together !!
So not an easy job but if your not worried about hiding the wiring all the components could be mounted in the engine bay and just be plugged in.
You will also need to run a fuel return line as this primes the pump and keeps the fuel cool as it returns to the tank for recycling.
I am happy with the result and intend on driving more and more as my confidence comes back, oh after I fix the vibrating heat shield around the fuel lines above the muffler, phew !!!
