Thanks for the pics :D Yeah the lc Lj shaft fits inside the htg column so could go that way aswell the selectors are on opposite sides
Was the other difference between the htg and torrie columns
I think the torana uni's are the same

Hi Jay,

I used the HT/G column but still had to modify it somewhat. I cut the end off both the shaft and housing to achieve the correct length, used a brass bush and turned the shaft down to accept a torana uni. I also had to modify the dash mount bracket to fit snug against the pedal box, that also had to be fabricated so the slip tabs would still be utilised.
The good thing about the HT column is you can buy a shroud from rare spares that deletes the shifter honey pot so it all looks like it should be there.

You are probably aware already , but I don't want to see anyone caught out . The LJ has a different spline count for the wheel .
As for new cars spoiling you , I guess I am just twisted . I was lucky enough to be given a VE SSV ute as a work vehicle and found it boring as bat shit . Yeah , it did everything right , it handled exceptionally well , especially when pushed hard . Was quite perky , very comfortable and had all the bells and whistles which I am not in favor of as I found them distracting . Biggest down fall was brakes . Anyway just wanted to say that no matter how good the newer car is , they lack character and all those things that annoy the shit out us in our older cars is a part of their " character ". STYLE and CHARACTER , 8) that's what it is about ...... unlike me .. I have neither  , but I am as cantankerous as they are  "angryy:

:( Yeah I won't be able to the fb steering wheel on it but I do have a
A nice wooden style one to go on it similar to the htg monaro wheel
It matches the wood I have in The cargo area and on the door trims
So it keeps the theme I wanted going
You can get the fb wheel to fit the ht column though with out to much trouble

And yeah I much prefer to drive a classic then a plastic
But doesn't stop me driving newer cars :shh:

oh yeah the VY has no style but 98% of my driving is open country roads and they just don't mix well with no suspension :( people say well lift the car up    then i might aswell keep the VY cause a 4WD FB/EK is a vile thing to me

maybe one day :?

That looks very nice indeed Jay.

What a pity the General didn't offer these as an option in the day for a few extra pounds and shilling.
