Hi Neil

585 refers to the type of paint used - in this case Dulon.

608 is a quick reference to 9692 Collen Green & 9904 Sherwood Green.

Trim 892 is Amulet & Scarab Green with Stardust Grey Bolsters.

I found some of this info on this forum and some on "Dr Google"

Cheers,

John

Hi Clay.
Fellow I bought it from was in Sydney. I think when he discovered the extent of the rust he panicked and looked to get out. He told me he bought it down from Qld. That could be right cause there was an awful lot of good red dust in there.
Good news is I'm going to respray same colours in acrylic. Bad news is I haven't got a suitable life expectancy (just kidding) or temperament to wait for SMS to come good with seat material (and I didn't really like it anyway) so seats have been done in a lightcream and green combo. Door trims ditto. Pics show seat before its been lined up! Green is pretty close to original colour.
I've been keeping a log of resto with pics that will get here eventually- I promise.

Hi,

I've got an EK Special Sedan which doesn't have an ID plate attached, but the Body ID is:

EK3581 A.

When I bought the car it came with a whole lot of spares, including the following Body ID Plate:

BODY: EK225-1303-A
TRIM 681-966
PAINT: 585-0245
TOP: 585-0246

If I understand it correctly, that loose Trim Plate matches the way my car (EK3518-A) is painted and trimmed. ie. Strata Blue with a Snowcrest White roof, and Viscount and Zenith Blue interior. My car has obviously been re-painted, but there is no evidence to suggest it was a different colour scheme previously, and I think the interior is definitely right. I've attached photos of the interior, the body ID, and and the loose trim plate.

Ahh - the penny finally dropped. I see from earlier posts that the Body ID number is different from the VSN on the chassis. I guess it is the correct ID plate and I should put it where it's meant to go...

I think rare spares sell correct rivets if you are fussy. Also the hollow rivet centres generally seem yo be sealed off with lead solder.

Cool, nice to have the cars history and even better when it is a family member. Is there a thread with pics/details of the car?
