I have been somewhat remiss, and have not posted the plate details that I have. Hope this makes up for it.

EK Utility. Previously a Queensland car, and was located in Toowoomba in 1999 with rego NPV105. Sold by Gary Ziser to Dave Mac in Sydney a few years ago, and recently bought by me. Suspect much of the car to be original. Currently unrego’d, plan to keep original and return to rego.
Subframe number: EK18708B
Engine number: B319029
Firewall plate:
EK2106-9112S
TRIM 563-983 (Mephisto and Chianti red)
PAINT 585-4685 Silverton Grey Dulon solid acrylic lacquer (a 1962 colour)
INSERT
TOP

EK Special Station Sedan. Previously owned in Towradgi, New South Wales. Owner had a purple wagon that he had smacked in the drivers front. Parts transferred into this car but project never finished. Sold with HR front end and red motor mounts, no engine or gearbox. Bought by me about 15 years ago and slowly converted into a V8. Getting close to engineering now.
Subframe number: EK45063S
Firewall plate:
EK229-3750S
TRIM 681-973 (Viscount and Zenith blue)
PAINT 585-0245 Strata Blue Dulon solid acrylic lacquer (a 1961 colour)
INSERT
TOP 585-0246 Snowcrest White Dulon solid acrylic lacquer (a 1961 and 1962 colour)

EK Special Sedan. Previously stored in a paddock in Duri, NSW. Bought by me about ten years ago with terminal rust. Vehicle scrapped and driveline disposed of.
Firewall plate:
EK225-18353S
TRIM 741-1047 (Mosaic Turquoise and Athens grey)
PAINT 585-9931 Twilight Turquoise Dulon solid acrylic lacquer (a 1960 and 1962 colour)
INSERT
TOP 585-0246 Snowcrest White Dulon solid acrylic lacquer (a 1961 and 1962 colour)

FB Special Sedan. Previously owned by Jamie in Girraween, who had rebuilt engine and resprayed. Car rego'd as CHO576. Bought by me about 10 years ago as a daily driver.
Subframe number: FB20728B
Engine: J23135 (an EJ Holden block, cat August 14th 1962)

I'm doing all this from memory -

EK Special sedan, Opal green with white roof
Perth build, chassis number EK4525P, engine number B218629
My father bought it in 1968, second-hand from a friend in Perth who drove it over to Sydney.
First NSW registration number ENJ-865 (August 1967)
Second NSW registration number HPG-232 (December 1975, after being laid up for a year when we went on sabbatical to the USA)
I became its owner in 1981, and disobeyed paternal instructions not to modify it.
HR disc brake conversion and hotted-up X2 motor.
Spat the driveshaft on the M4 at Penrith, broke the diff, the rear axle housing, the gearbox case, and bent the gearbox mainshaft.
Sold the X2 motor to a friend, put the grey back in, reconditioned and warmed up the grey in 1984.
I sold the car, unwillingly, in late 1988, because work was sending me to France for a year.

 Sounds like you were doing 100 when it let loose. Must have been pretty damn frightening.

I'm no expert, but I thought Banff blue was a 1960 colour. Engine number is close to the end of the FB run (B1001-B175813).

Harv,

Correct. Well over 90 at least. I was coming back from a church youth group camp up in the mountains and decided to let rip once I got onto the freeway. On the right rear floor I had a bag with Bible and pen. The Bible's cover now has a pen-shaped imprint on it. Plus I had a friend's newly purchased, very expensive ghetto-blaster sitting on the right hand rear floor. It basically got turned into a maraca. I shudder to think what would have happened if I'd had a passenger sitting behind me.

Of course, I was thinking, "this is just the normal Holden driveshaft thing", which then became very abnormal a couple of seconds later, followed by an enormously loud thump and then softer, metallic scraping sounds.

I am now paranoid about drivetrain imbalance.

Hi all. Last year I posted my Plate IDs on this page and a similar one on facebook. Does anyone know Steve Jackson who runs the facebook page. no activity since last September. There are awesome resource tables posted there.. I think I remember him sending me a message saying he had been sick. It would be a shame to lose those tables.

Steve's mia but I believe they have been keeping the list up to date. Can't remember who took it over from him. A few on here have been updating it. So fear not it's not lost.

FB ute chassis No FB7089S
BODY FB2106-1227-S
TRIM 371-833
PAINT 256-9695
i am told lucerne blue nitro, it sucks i'm turning into a restorer as it's a very good bodied ute and i'm super reluctant to cut the floor for gearbox mods (i don't even want to cut it for a floor shift on the grey box   ) and even considering taking the red out to put a grey back in    but i'm pretty sure i won't be happy with that and no grey motors have turned up for sale so pretty safe  8)
