V8EK4us- 383 SBC,4 link,Torana f/e - 12 months on...

Post by V8EK4us »

Hi all,
Here are some progress (a little) pics of the Darwin NT '61 EK build.

These are the proposed specs (updated):
We are tubbing the Ek to take 15x10 Convo's on the rear (hopefully!, this will take alot of work and talkin' to the Engineer and Rego guys!) and 15x6 on the front. The motor is a 350 chev SB with a blower or Ram Tube injection.
LX Torana front end.
LSD from VN SS with disc brakes for the rear, shortened.
Fully welded chassis kit
Powerglide, full manual valve body, trans brake (3800 stall)
Rack and Pinion steering (Torana)
Jet Black paint
A "flashline kit"
Pedders suspension on the Torana frontend
McDonald Bros Racing 4 link rear end.
Dual 2 1/2" - 3" exhaust system
Alloy drop tank
A/C (bloody hot in Darwin!)

We intend to bring her down to the Nationals when she is finished.......somewhere between 2009 and 2059!!

Thanks for the post sdyder, we're very happy with the condition of the EK...makes the rebuild that little bit easier.

Sounds like a great idea......."whats happening in the NT section"!!...might have to stir up the guys at the "Classic Holden Club NT" and get some more "northern action" going!

Hope to be going to Alice, depends on that "work thing!!!"......oh yeh, and I have a new toy in the shed to build! :D

Took me ten years to finish the shed.......buggered if I now how long the EK will take?????.......mmmmmm...more roses for the misses and less kicks for the dog!

cheers

Hi Garry,
I think most of us would like to have started with what you have and have every confidence that we will eyeball your efforts in 09/10 - may not live to see '59 (100th anniversary of FB) so please, pretty please let my miserable life be overjoyed with the satisfaction of seeing yet another Phoenix rise from the ashes................... yours, however did not descend to the depths that some of the poor old things were neglected to.............

Hi spyder, probably paid way too much................ but I really wanted the Flashline kit as it was soooo straight and complete. To top it off there are some other parts that I can use in the rebuild. I paid $500 for the whole car.

cheers

PS. the wheels sound like a done deal, can I check them out next week?

cheers
