Well 12 and a half years later, since the original post.
I have finally replaced my brake drums.
And yes they fit the FB/EK backing plates :whistlinggg: :yeahhh:

I have the EJ ones from Empowered autoparts on mine - the only difference is the flange at the back of the drum sits about 15mm away from the backing plate but the drum itself sits in same position as FB/EK drums - I still have the boxes somewhere Blacky I will take pic of the part number but ebay - empowered autoparts were good to deal with.

but I don't know how to post pics here.

Thanks fellas, good info . The ute was making a scraping noise leaving Albany on Monday and the left rear was a bit warmer than the others when I checked so it may be time to give the brakes a birthday 🎁

If your going to do your cylinders powerbrakes in adelaide can do exchange brand new sleeved units - fast turn around - same cylinders as rares but 30$ a corner cheaper Image

Yes I think so. It is only the wider HD HR torana drums that need the later wheels. The EJ EH ones are ok as they has the exact same rims as FE to EK.

Yes they fit perfectly - the only difference is in the backing plates profile - the RDA6780 is not as close a fit at the backing plate as originals but they work fine and fit no problem with stock wheels.
