Front bench installation

Post by melly »

Hi All,

Managed to score a replacement front bench for the wagon- camper style in pretty good nick, but ran into some problems trying to install so looking for some advice please. I found only 3 block spacers so one missing- does everyone just fab up their own ( if so whatya use- these ones look like Teflon) or can they be found as a set? I have an M20 to put behind the red motor which has the shifter modified already, and read here that the spacers are necessary for clearance with the bench? Need to set it for the seat belt templates…Also couldn’t find all the bolts, only 2 of correct length- what’s the fastener place of choice in WA?

Cheers

Melly

You would only need those if you are a shortarse , they are awful high ......

Mine has a 8mm spacer under the front only to lean it back a bit

Yeh they’re about an inch thick Blacky- the nice ones that gpi sent the link for are 12mm. I just assumed they needed to be that height to allow clearance for the gear shift?

Depends on where the shifter is I guess ..... for bolts I use either Searle fasteners in Canning Vale or West Coast fasteners in Welshpool but there is bound to be someone in Wangara or up that way for you northeners

np Melly, does the seat have a sticker on the drivers side near the lever? Looks like it might be the 'auto reclining seat' from Lay-back seat specialists
