Red EK Seat Material

Post by Fex »

I caught up with a motor trimmer late last week. He has a bunch of old vinyl from a retired upholsterer. I got a small piece of some original FJ commercial material and a roll of brown material that will be close enough for my FJ army Ute. There was also a roll of what I think is red EK seat material if anyone is chasing it. There is 5m plus a little bit. Advised the price is $150/m if you take the lot. I don’t know much about trimming (like how they get the line and circle in the trim) but I’m assuming it is EK. The whole roll is as per the pic. Probably original material based on the chat I had. Happy to put you in touch or pick up and send if it helps. Location is Laidley, Qld.

That looks like the original EK insert pattern to me Andrew. If they had some of the iridescent in green or silver I would be all over it.

When you're faced with an unpleasant task that you really don't want to do, sometimes you just have to dig deep down inside and somehow find the patience to wait for someone else to do it for you.

Is it $150 per metre for 5 metres? When you weigh it up itthen needs to be press welded they become very expensive seat inserts.
Glad you scored then other material.

Sadly more went to the dump than didn’t. About 2 minivans full. The trim I found at the dump shop was all that ended up there. The shop wasn’t too keen to help with the rest so it all went to refuse. The bloke kept a bit and there’s probably some gold in it but he doesn’t know what a fair bit of it is.

Cheers, Andrew
