Hi all, numpty question coming...

This is the rear seat compartment

How neatly is the FB/EK rear seat supposed to fit here - this is mine

I would think it would fit neatly on, in or over that main structure bit across the floor. Hopefully as you can see, mine does not.

Maybe it isn't the original seat as it is black and doesn't match the backrest which is

Which does match the front seat.

Any advice?

Cheers

thats not an original seat base mate, how does it look with the top half removed ? Does it go further back and fit nice around the wheel arches ???
When you're faced with an unpleasant task that you really don't want to do, sometimes you just have to dig deep down inside and somehow find the patience to wait for someone else to do it for you.

Hi Blacky - it doesn't fit any better with the backrest removed. Just kinda sits half on/off the side of the seat support structure and overhangs the front of it.

Ok, mystery solved. Back seat definitely NOT FB/EK. FB/EK seat courtesy of Brett (and Wilma) is top and right in pics below. Very different seat structure and slightly wider allowing it to fit over the seat rail thing.

I needed to figure out where the seat sat in the seat well cos as you can see I have to make a new one.

The seat well has a kink down in it across some of the beads towards the front which will be difficult to replicate. But as the seat doesn't make contact below that kink it won't have to be perfect.
