Front door glass

Post by EK283 »

So Murphy"s law,

One more window to put in and although I have 15 of them, they are all scratched to some degree.

Does anyone have a scratch free front door main glass I could buy ?

Regards Greg

why not just get a new one cut ????
When you're faced with an unpleasant task that you really don't want to do, sometimes you just have to dig deep down inside and somehow find the patience to wait for someone else to do it for you.

Thanks for your offer Bill,

I may still take up that offer.

I have put the least scratched one I have for the interim and will search once I get the car going, very soon I hope !

I'm not sure where in Sydney if at all I can get class cut, I know glass 4 classics have whole sets so I will have to do some thinking or searching .

Pretty much any glazier should be able to cut it for you, it will be laminated not toughened is about the only difference.

When I got my ute inspected in SA they checked the watermarks to endure the windows were “safety glass” what ever that means.

The glass I had cut for my Chev had those marks about every 500 mm on the perimeter of the sheet they cut it from so the logo was in the corner when they cut it

All good guys,

Thanks for looking out for me, although I spend a lot of time doing the same !!!

Its funny, the glass can scratch by just looking at it, but you try and polish the scratches out, no way unless you spend a month or two !!!!

Get in touch with Highland Glass in Bowral, they do toughened glass with the appropriate marks on them, polished edges and all! Pretty cheap too!
