Console

Post by Blacky »

Been meaning to knock one of these up for a few years now, I had a pair of seat sides that were rusty on the vertical part and being a pack rat I couldn’t bring myself to throw them out so I thought they would make a good console
First up I cut the top bit off -

Then cut it to length and lopped the front bits off and tacked it together

And glued it all together, going to whack a couple of cup holders and a USB port for charging phones on top , still have to patch the adjuster hole up and make some tabs to screw it to the floor , took it to work and blasted it so now it’s ready for a final grind up , bog and paint. If it doesn’t get forgotten about it will be ready for Nuriootpa ImageImage

You're the man Blacky!
Well done - a great stylistic fit to what you would expect a factory console to be at the time.
I am spending a lot of thought time on my console. I want something modern (apple car play), but packaged up in a period correct style housing. Great inspiration.
My original idea was to repurpose the hump in the dash where the speedo sits, to use as the sides. The thought of finding and cutting up 2 put me off.
Finding so seat sides might be a little more realistic.

Love the use of the curved panels - ties in really well.

Just needs one of these put into the forward end, on a bit of an angle :)...

Thats cool Harv - did you have a chat with Doc about the gear you bought ? It was feeding a Hilborn hat which is why it had 4 nozzles
