Bonnet mounted windscreen washer squirter

Post by EK283 »

Does any one know what the measurement for the hole in the bonnet (location wise) is for the windscreen washer squirter please ?

Hi Greg

looks like you are pretty limited by the bonnet reinforcement

my original bonnet had what I believe to be an original single squirter ... this was then deleted and had two squirters put in - directly in front of the driver and passenger (a bit closer to the windscreen)

I put two in the new bonnet (where they fit in a hole in the reinforcement and directly in front of the driver and passenger). This spot lets me squirt up to about the middle of the windscreen with the squirter adjusted all the way up (which is fine)

My bonnet came with the single-squirter hole. Can measure that for you if it helps, but no guarantee it is NASCO-correct. I don't have the instructions for the EK washer kits.

8.75” from the trailing edge of the bonnet to the centre of the hole.

had a look behind the shed at the old bonnet. the central one on that was only 175mm from the back edge (which put it just in front of the reinforcement).

You will probably find most were either dealer fitted or fitted by owner and they are all over the place.

One thing to bear in mind is that the stream will hit the window lower at speed, so need to be able to set stream high on the screen. Some like to have one squirting over the roof as a deterrent to tailgaters.

From my brief education from Tim the twin squirters were FB period and then they were changed to single (twin hole) for EK.
I have a pair of mint FB squirters if any one is in need as they came in a NOS box I picked up from Tim and then sourced the proper EK single.

FB were integral to the wiper bezels. They are much cooler of course but wouldn't look out of place on EK.

Maybe it was the later EJ that went to twins?
