Interior light Switch

Post by FJWALLY »

Are there any other options to the rates push button Door light switches - the little black things that go in the door frame to turn light on when door opens?

Mine has failed already as the tiny little plastic tabs on the end just gave out so had to bypass the circuit to stop it activating constantly.
Any originals out there? Are they better?

Those are FB. They changed at EK. The newer ones are available. Bit later they went to a flat head but still work the same. Or rip some out of anything post FB, up to WB or so.

These are the resto country ones - I would need to drill bigger holes to fit but if more durable that would not bother me Image

The originals are worth finding. The black plastic is pretty tough - I've had a set in/out multiple times and the tabs are still great.

Rob,
The bigger FB ones are no more reliable, just dearer. I’ve got FB A-pillars on my EK van, and want to fill the holes so I can fit correct EK switches. Go figure as they say.
Cheers,
Clay

You could try Ecklers. They have a story on ebay ecklersautomotive. Postage is eye watering. Parts are all probably from the same factory.

Back in 1980 mate had a HR wagon, the preffered car for SA surfers who often travelled many miles to breaks on the west coast. He had rotating tabs that held the switches in so the light didn't come on when you opened the doors when seeking herbal enlightenment in the car park if you ken my meaning.
