Headlight Peak Rust Panel

Post by Robo »

Hi All
Just picked up my FB Ute Farm find and have noticed that is is a bit difficult to track down Headlight peak rust panels. Is there any one in Australia selling them .

Cheers - Rob

G'day Rob, welcome to the forum mate   have you tried Taylors in QLD ??? I don't know if they do them but is worth a shot - if not they come up on Epay fairly regularly.

Got any photos of your ute ????

Hey Rob,
Welcome to the forum and pleased to hear you are working to save a ute. There are some folk on here that really appreciate the merits of an Aussie icon in the FB / EK Utes.

Look forward to seeing some pics of your car.

Regards
Stephen

Welcome Rob - Go the Utes!!!!

Second that Taylors for the rust panels - I didn't have a super smooth transaction with him but his panels are good - they have the proper 1.6mm Aus steel and rares are 1.2mm unknown source - still better than trying to make yourself and both reasonably priced I think.

Look forward to seeing your progress

Rob (2),

What sort of condition is the FJ in? Just curious . . .
Seems that South Australia still has "farm finds" to be found. I remember seeing a green FE sedan on a property just west of Renmark where the Berri bypass turns off the Sturt Highway.

The FJ is ok ...has lots of surface rust and the LHF upright is missing....also bought the front end from a HD as well....The farmer has heaps of cars but is reluctant to sell anything. ...He doesnt like Holdens and they were out the back of the shed rusting way....there is also a FC wagon up there that is rotten to the core which was the one i really wanted until i saw it wasc a total basket case.....I wish these people would sell the before they rotted into the ground so someone else could enjoy them ......Rob

Hey Rob,
Hope you might get a chance to chuck a couple pics of your ute on the forum soon. Always interested to see what has turned up in our backyard.
