Very much so, thanks! Though I found a bloke on Fachebook who reckons it has been for sale for over ten months now?! Whatever the case, it's the car I wanted and the price was right. So I'm chalking it up as a great outcome.

Re: 1959 Studebaker Lark
Hahaha! Look.... I know I owe ya for the banjo diff centre and axles... but I actually have every intention of running the 327 & Powerglide in the Lark!
Unless it's the sidevalve 6 and 3 speed-overdrive gearbox you're talking about?? You can totally have that!

Re: 1959 Studebaker Lark
Oh great!! You're becoming my one stop rear axle shop... do you know if the rear axle in mine is any good? Is it the same for 6 and V8 models? I'd be happy to leave it be if it's working fine. Then take it easy, if I get the 327 situation happening.EK283 wrote: ↑Tue May 22, 2018 1:31 pm Sidevalve six. Chrysler?
But I notice good solid old Delco-Remy electrical components.
Thats a Stude engine and they run them for many years !
The V8's were 259 and 289 and everybody thinks they are a &*#@ engine. Stude was very in front of their time, superchargers, hill holders cross flow fresh air vents, disc brakes etc etc Unfortunately bad management let them down, the last cars to come to Australia were the 1966 Cruiser models, these has 283 chevs in them the only foriegn engine !!
Hey Joe funnily enough I have some diff spares for the Stude as well !!!!
Regards Greg
When I was inspecting it, I was pondering things like "I wonder who the best parts suppliers are for these?" etc, and then I thought of you and your race car. I'll be hitting you up for your advice/experiences for sure. I better bring you a case of beer before I outstay my welcome though!

Re: 1959 Studebaker Lark
Thanks Stephen! I am indeed pinching myself. Mind you, I haven't been trying to find one. It's more the disbelief that this combination of rare, specific roof/pillar body style that I prefer, in a colour that I love, at a very affordable price just appeared before me, right when I was in a position to jump on it. I just feel lucky. In the Shed wrote: ↑Tue May 22, 2018 10:37 pm That's great Joe,
You must still be pinching yourself and asking ......... "did I really snag that"?
It appears to have all the trim, badges and can't see any dings. What size side valve six is it? What gear box is behind the donk?
Now back to that ute.........
Regards
Stephen
No idea what capacity the motor is I'm afraid! Or if it even runs. The box is a three speed column shift manual with an electronic overdrive 4th gear, I guess something like old Volvos or Triumphs had?? I can see the mechanism but I don't know how it works.
I've been hit with a flu just yesterday, but I am very close to welding in the the new rear chassis box section I've laboriously fabricated for the Ute. It's looking promising. Hopefully I'll have updates later in the week.

Re: 1959 Studebaker Lark
Had a pretty smooth run down to Victoria and back over the weekend to collect the Stude, using the faithful combination of my bro’s pretty substantially upgraded 6.0L Commodore and the heavy, but stable rent a trailer from the servo bear his place. Geez we used some fuel on the way home... but much much cheaper than getting it home on a quick lift.
Some pics of the old girl out in the light for the first time:
And then tucked it away in a secret location near my joint (in exchange for for some cases of wine...) under a heavy duty cover, to wait out the winter.
Can’t wait to get into that build!
