Ran into a bit fog and rain after leaving Merriden so tucked in behind a road train.
Over night at mom's place in Mundaring but don't remember it being so cold at night in the hills

Dropped off the doors at Blacky's for Thommo then driove down to Mandurah. I gave the wagon a clean up this morning and boy that it go fast now.
All booked in at the Ocean Markna Chalets and kicking back with beer.
It is a little overcast but no rain yet so I will keep my fingers crossed.

Cheers
Roger

Happy wife flew in on Thursday night so all good now.

Met up with the other entrants at the meet and greet in Friday night. Great time catching up with everyone, had a beer or 2 and told some stories.

Ammo and I drove to the Yacht club for the Saturday sign in and bacon and egg breakfast.
I only did part of the cruise out to see the " living " rocks before heading back to Mandurah to have a look around.
A lot has changed over the years with a heap more development and housing.

Tonight of to the Sebel for what we have been told will be entertaining night.

I'm think of washing to wagon so I don't stick out too much.
Cheers
Roger

Hi guys,
We have a fantastic weekend in Mandurah. A great turn out for the Show and Shine on Sunday with a bit wind and raining I the morning.
The trip over was worth it just to see the number of great cars in the WA club.
No trophies coming home to SA this year and we saw on of the best utes, an EK in Australia.
If I could get this IPad to cooperate I would post some photos.

All entrants received a couple of unique gifts and a bottle of WA wine in addition to the goodie bag. I will bring these the next meeting.

A big congratulations to the WA club on a fantastic event and I look forward to going tot the next Nationals in Mudgee.

Cheers
Roger

Hi guys,
Went to start the drive home this morning but had a issue with the wagon.
Checked all the obvious stuff, fuel and spark, all good but still no fire in the beast.

Call the RAC ( WA's RAA ) who was no help and suggest it gets towed to a mechanic
Time to call in some local help.

Called Blacky who put me on to guy who live around the corner.
Leigh dropped around and through further checking we determined the dissy shaft was broken. Called around and got a replacement, fitted the electronic ignition, set the timing, cranked it over but still no go.
Checked the coil and found no spark so purchased a coil and regular point.

All fixed and will head off early tomorrow.

A massive thank to Leigh as today was his day off work.
We have heard of this type of assistance before and now I'm one of the lucky ones to be on the receiving end.

Cheers
Roger

Nice to know there is someone local who can help you out Roger. That connection of you calling Blacky who knows a guy over the road who knows a guy near you is like the original version of Bookface known as the bush telegraph. I still subscribe to the latter.........

Stephen

Yup , Leigh - or Kelleigh54 on the forum , is a bloody good bloke and has been playing with red 6's since most of us were in short pants

Must have been the day for it - one of the South West tourists split a trans line today and another had the door lock in his ute decide to seize up .... gotta love old cars !!

Just arrived home in Adelaide after a few days driving.
I enjoyed the drive and would encourage others to do the trip. So much to see if you open your eyes.

The wagon ran great sitting comfortably at 105 kms all day long and on my rough calculations, at nearly 10 litres per 100 kms.
That's about the same as my VE commodore around town.

Looking forward to getting back to work tomorrow, not.

Thanks to all who made this one of the great Nationals and for the memories.
Cheers
Roger

Well done Roger. Anything better than 11 l/100km is good for a 186 under those conditions, specially with all the down force you’re running.

I tested the LC70 Landcruiser wagon to Ceduna recently and got 12 l/100km with the front hubs freewheeling. I figure maybe if I got free wheeling hubs on the rear as well maybe I could get 10.
Cheers
