Fuel Sender Internals

Post by 59wagon »

Hi All, my fuel sender was showing open circuit so I opened it up and all the bits virtually fell out. Can anyone please direct me to a picture of the sender’s guts? I think I’ve sussed out how it goes back together (some repairs required) except for this little broken copper thingy in the photo. I found Scotty Sputzwagon’s great tutorial but it’s suffered the Photobucket kiss of death.

Sorry about the arrow quality - my finger wouldn’t do what I wanted Image

Cheers,

John

Good luck putting that back together. Rare parts sell new ones and you can get a screw a seal kit to fit it as well.

Yeh, I’ve seen the Rare’s ones, but I’m up for the challenge of restoring the original one. If it doesn’t work out, I’ll go for a newy.

Hi John;
Mate I have an old sender from the long gone days that my FC Sedan had an original tank you welcome to it if you can use any parts from it.

I pretty sure it was working ok when I took it out of the tank.

Thanks a lot, Neil. If I don’t have a win with this one, I’ll take you up on that, but I wouldn’t want to wreck yours for parts if it’s working.

John

You can have it mate because I will not be using it then it is up to you if you part it or use it.

It's been sitting on the shelf for 16 years mate I don't think I'm going to need it anytime soon :ughh: :whistlinggg:
