FB-friendly eastern suburbs mechanics?

Post by jasonlairdFB »

Hi experts - I'd appreciate any suggestions of people doing great work on FB-EKs in the eastern suburbs?

Doesnt Tony Galea work on the easten side somewhere ??? PM "nascohunter" , see if he can help you out ........
When you're faced with an unpleasant task that you really don't want to do, sometimes you just have to dig deep down inside and somehow find the patience to wait for someone else to do it for you.

Ive been using Barry at Dinkum Autos in Cheltenham.

He has just completed my diff (complete including hand brake cable - gear box re-build / brand new tailshaft / and steering box.

He has been excellent and the finish is pretty close to what would have come out of the factory(which is important to some - but may be a little rough for others)

He sources all his own parts and is very meticulous to ensure everything goes back together as good or better than new - full warranty (although I have never had to test that).

He does pretty much everything for holden - paint/panels and mechanicals.

While waiting for this to be deleted, I'll just say I spoke too soon. These things don't always work out.

Long story short - put gearbox together wrong. Barry at Dinkum Autos was the saviour.

Glad you got it sorted Jason - Barry is a rough old Diamond but seams to really know his stuff - I was impressed from the get go as he could tell me pretty much all the races parts that you could trust and those that were just failure in disguise which shows he has been around the block a few times -he took the extra time to have all new brake cables made for mine which are ten times better quality and only a small price difference.
