Chopped EK Van Project(recent pics Pg23)

Post by Thommo »

Gday Readers

I've just become the new owner, of forum member EK61's, chopped EK van :D
Dave's got a new project to do, and I've just come back all inspired for the Forbes Nats. 8)
The body on the van is exellent, but the roof's got some finishing to do.
It was last registered in 1969.
My initail plans are Trev/Ratbox style, Low buck croozer. 8)
Low sheen black, silver painted bumper/grille etc, chrome wheels.
The build wont be done in a Ratbox timeframe, but as time & funds allow.

This is one of Daves old pics.
Shows the 5" chop

The only problem with my low buck croozer is that it's cost me allot to get it to look like that  .
Well done on the purchase, keep the pic's coming,

Thats about the only part of the build that
there dosn't seem to be a low buck solution.
So, getting one 'ground' to fit is the only option.
Lexan has been done on other cars, but its not legal.

I myself bought a 27 roadster about a year ago and sold off my FB wagon during the year and regretted it since.
What Im saying is Ive had 36 cars go through my hands and havent missed any before , that includes quite a few sought after rides , etc
I was bought up in a hot rod family so it kinda fitted that the oldest cars were the ultimate.
Ive since changed my mind.... EK61 Im 33 and Ive seen every possible combination of a 27 tourer you can think of over the years but I have seen maybe 3 chopped vans.Everything is getting rarer because its older I know but are you in it for the money or the passion ...

Speaking of passion, mine has gone. Anyone looking for a van?

wish i knew it was for sale :( :(
further to what harko said i've had hundreds of cars (seriously close to 1000) some just daily drivers, mostly old and modified in some form and quite a few very good and or collectable, A roadster pickup, '64 ss impala, '63 chev impala quick big block, EK ute with 308, plus the modified FB/EK's seen in these pages 8) although regretting selling some the only one i've tried to buy back (a couple of times) is the chopped EK and now i'm looking for a body so i can have another go at it
