Well I thought I should show what I have been up to, will try to post pictures.
It had not id plate but got an FB one from an old ute on a farm and sub chassis is an EK one so the ute may have to be called Frankenstein along with odd guards and bonnet
Sub chassis and ID plate details are

I was given a VP V6 for nothing so am going the same way as my FC Sedan.

I decided to mock the car up before worrying about the sills etc.
I have finished norrowing the diff and it is under the car.
I have finished repairs to the Sub chassis that I was kindly given.
Sub chassis, guards and bonnet have been mocked to see how they fit.
HR X member is ready to go in just waiting on the sump so I can weld in the remade HR engine mounts.

I had to make more room so decided to expand my workshop at home as well

It will give me another 22 m2
Really pleased with the progress so far I will just have to keep at it.

Hi Jaimie;
I will see if I can catch up soon and have a look at the tag if you dont mind the one I have is not too bad and is an early number but you can always improve right.

And I dont know how that other picture showed up there I'm not sure how to delete it does anbody have any ideas

Hey Blacky;
When I look at the post yesterday the photo of the VP had changed to one of I think it was Beyonce and what ever her husbands name is today it is back to normal mate so not sure what went on there but thanks for replying.

Shed almost finished not much more to do just guttering etc and I'm probably going to have to paint the bloody thing now because of the different colours dam.

Engine mounts are ready to go on to the x member just waiting for my sump from V6 Conversions to be able to position it porperly I look to use remade HR mounts to put back onto the x memeber and I make (get made) plates and then fab up the side engine mounts.

Guys I am having trouble getting the sub chassis to meet up with the body holes the K legs need to go back about half a hole but the sub chassis is hard up against the firewall.
Has anybody had this problem and how do I fix the sub chassis is not the original from the car.

They are often a bugger to get back on - lots of flex, especially if they have been repaired. Some hints here:

Received my steering and sump from V6 Conversions and have finished the mod to the x member so I thought I would add some photos of the process

The modified rack and doubler plate as supplied it also comes with the tie rod ends, bolts for the rack and the brackets of course.

The 10mm has been removed to help with clearance for the sump

I have bent the ends of the doubler plate to fit the shape of the x member

I'm going to sit the engine and gearbox onto the x member and finish getting the engine mount brackets the right height that I like and then weld the mount brackets onto the x member then I'll be able to take it all home and trial fit it to the car after I sort out the subchassis not bolting up properly.

Pulled the sub chassis back off of the car so that I can put the body back on the rotis.

Decided to trial fit the engine to the sub chassis (also saves room in my limited space :thumbsup: ) and x member also marked out the floor hump to be cut out to fit the new one; whoever had the body before me appears to have fitted an original auto hump.

if the body already has an auto hump you shouldn't need to change it as the aftermarket hump is based off an auto hump
sometimes yor just better off shitting in yor hands and clapping

It just seems to be a bit flat Mick and I am not sure if the T700 will fit under it properly I added the bigger picture so it can be seen properly.

Maybe I just need to change the gearbox loop under the hump to make sur I have the clearance what do you think? Might need to trial fit engine to body :yeahhh:

I would definately trial fit before cutting that out - someone else on here not too long ago cut out an auto hump by mistake ..... :problem: :problem:
