I might be out of line here but I would love to see tassie have its own club, I have spoken to a few guys on facebook that are in tassie with fb's ek's that are also keen.
If there is someone already planing this let me know, ill pass the other guys details on, otherwise I am happy to help as much as I can to start it up ( me being in vic ofcourse, good excuse to come visit lol)
If you guys in tassie are keen comment here or shoot me a pm, am keen to make this happen

Sounds like a very good idea to me. Am interested.
Not all chemicals are bad. Without chemicals such as hydrogen and
oxygen, for example, there would be no way to make water, a vital
ingredient in beer

Hey Rawls, welcome to the forum mate - how is that wagon of yours coming along ??????
When you're faced with an unpleasant task that you really don't want to do, sometimes you just have to dig deep down inside and somehow find the patience to wait for someone else to do it for you.

Hi blacky, thanks for the welcome! The poor old wagon has been in the shed relatively untouched for a very long time but I have converted her back to grey motor and 5 speed. I have the grey motor on the engine stand at the moment, I've done the oil filter mods and a fair bit of work to the head, triple strombergs on speco manifold with Jack Meyers type headers etc. just have to make my bearing supports and it will be ready to put back together. I am restoring a 69 beetle for my wife at the moment but once that is done I'll be able to concentrate on my wagon. Can't wait to get it finished and come cruising with you guys!

Just joined this forum today as I have just bought an EK ute for the second time. First one was in Brisbane and broke my heart when I had to sell her. This one is striped down to bare metal and a lick of undercoat and ready for restoration. I will need all the advice I can get, so would be happy to join in a club.

Oh I live up the West Tamar - Launie

Thanks for the welcome.

This is my retirement project so will take a couple of years. I want to do the work myself. Well the bits I can. I am a fitter by trade so mechanicals are probably going to be straightforward, electrical not so much.

Here it is sitting in my shed, bit of work. I bought her from a guy in Hobart who was a blacksmith by trade and has done a nice job of the panels and bodywork. He has fitted a HR front end and done all the under sealing.

I will start a new thread and post pictures as I go.

I am looking forward to the Launceston swap meeting on 28th. Found out the head is cracked in three places so am hoping there would be something or someone to help track a new one down on the island.

Facebook....

Bumpar doesn't get on here much anymore. Doesn't mean he's still not keen to help. Looks like there's enough interest, be a good time to all get together and go from there....
Speed and Style........... One day I'll get the speed bit.

A Tassie Club would be great and would love to be a part of it as we are club less at the moment in gypsy mood. We are still kicking and working around the mainland in our EK but hopeful to be back early in the new year.

Cheers
Nick
