Thanks for the link....a bit intimidating ......I have been reading all the excellent posts on the many rebuilds on this site and can appreciate the amount of work that can go into a rusty body.......not sure I have the space, time or money for that comprehensive a build.....

My quandry is wherether to pay more for a rust free example ( if there is such a thing) or buy one with some rust and get it fixed when I have the dough????

I definitely do not want to have an EK that owes me over $50k in respray and rebuild costs......

hard to say is it worth it i wouldn't pay that for it BUT i'm a tight arse  they are getting harder to find but  9 times out of 10 if there's some rust you can see there's more you can't see :( but it's probly better to buy a car that looks like it hasn't been touched paint/body wise with a bit of rust than a mint looking freshly painted car unless you can see what was done prior to the paint some cars get shonked just for sale
just because a car is very expensive doesn't allways mean it's good
sometimes yor just better off shitting in yor hands and clapping

Nothing wrong with pink. :eugeek:

That rust in the door jamb is not an easy (or cheap!) fix. Like Mick said, just coz a car costs more doesn't mean less rust

no fishing just an opinion, seen plenty of cars that are all shiney but under that skin they are a mess, unless there is before and after pics you don't know what you are getting
for instance look at cal's car the stuff that was done in the roof rail you don't do to a car you plan to keep someone at some time was tarting that car up to sell :ewink:
sometimes yor just better off shitting in yor hands and clapping
