Gday Marty
I bought one brand new only 4yrs ago.
They may still make them.
Contact SPECO THOMAS SALES
Ph (03) 555 7244
Fax (03) 553 2841
Speco Speed Shifter Part# 61 1470

If they stopped making them,
See if they can chase up any unsold stock

Gday Marty

I do have the parts your looking for,
But I dont want to part with them.
I can give you all the measurements you'll need.

When I bought my shifter,
I remade most of the parts.

The angle iron mount is just no good,
You cant do it up tight,
because it fits onto the gearbox inspection cover,
which has a cork gasket that you dont want to crush.

When I made mine, I made an inspection cover
from 6mm steel plate, & welded my own angle iron mount to it.

I will take photos & give you all the dimensions as soon as I can.

This is an old home made shifter by the looks,
I bought this before I found out I could still buy one new at the time.
This pic shows the layout of an assembled shifter.

This is the shifter in my car showing the 6mm plate inspection cover,
With the angle bracket welded to it, and bolted on as one piece.
This is so much stronger, much more reliable & solid feeling to use.

Also posted below, is the fitting instructions for the speco shifter.

If you have any questions, dont hesitate to ask

Thankyou so much for the time and effort you have taken to help me out
it is greatly appreciated
I can now make one myself
Does it take much slop out of the gear shift itself as opposed to the column
This shows what a great forum this is

The column shift is sloppy because it worn out in all the linkages, which can be repaired.

With the floor shift any slop is taken out by how tight the bolts are tensioned.
This will take trial n' error to get it between sloppy, & stickey.

The first stick I made, was just a piece of 5/8 rod, that I used to
test different shapes & lenghts to make sure it cleared the seat & dash.
Once your happy with that, use it as a templete to make your good one.

One thing I found with mine, was the best shape turned out to be
dead straight. I found any swan neck design wanted to twist as you go
from 1st to 2nd across the 'H' pattern, making it stiff.
The straight stick works a treat, but it is close to your left leg.

Im glad to be of help to you,
because I appreciated the help
I've recieved from others.

They are limited in supply though as Speco haven't made them for a few years now and the seller you refer to is selling off old stock ( info gained from a phone call to Speco and the ebay seller ).
I can't think what to write here so this will do.
