Re: Road Trip from Melb 2000 mile round trip
I suppose everyone has seen most pics of the nats sign in and show, shine & rain - so Im posting the road trip pics which is always fun
No probs for the old greys!
After a complete night of torrentail rain in Sydney we woke up to a wt floor in the car.
This torrential rain has one good point, it shows where any leaks were in your car. Mine had a couple of holes drilled in the firewall,
A massive aerial hole in the inside wall (inside the mudguard - looked like the dumbass had fired a .303 through there to make a hole!)
Plenum chamber spout (one had a crack in it) and a pile of large old seat belt holes in the floor where someone once had lap-belts and the next owner took them out and put the carpet over the large open holes (There- that will do just fine! The idiot!)
In all - we welded up 16 holes (14 drilled ones)
Cheers

Re: Road Trip from Melb 2000 mile round trip
Called in on a private garage collectables museum about 5k's from Chiltern Vic. This bloke had a $1M+ in old pumps, oil bottles racks signs and all sorts of garage collectables. rare tractors, motorised push bikes, farming equipment
He even had a rare old arc welder that was made up on a trailer that run from a re-coed FC grey motor
You could take pics all day of his collection

More On Route Pics - Where Getting there is 1/2 the Fun!
Nick and his dad David caught up to us in Yass on the way up.
Heading north on the Newcastle Highway on the Thursday Arvo - was like a game of mario karts! Big trucks everywhere on the 2 left lanes and cars cutting across 3 lanes in front of you. Up & down hills and through gigantic cuttings. Plenty of people tooting with thumbs up, others tooting - pissed off that we were sitting in the middle lane doing 100ks only! All good fun

I'd rather drive something made of metal, not plastic!
