2019 Nationals
Re: 2019 Nationals
I believe it is a requirement to be married to or at the very least dating a blood relation to live in Sofala nice place though , from there we went to some obscure old racetrack about 45 minutes away .....

When you're faced with an unpleasant task that you really don't want to do, sometimes you just have to dig deep down inside and somehow find the patience to wait for someone else to do it for you.

2019 Nationals
Then we did a ( extremely slow) lap of the track
Then it was off into town to look at some maniacs ridiculously big collection of speedway memorabilia
Then it was off to the pub for dinner next morning I went for a bit of a walk

Re: 2019 Nationals
Then we were off to Dubbo for the day after a hearty breakfast
The crew ....
So many awesome old buildings in these towns
Lunch in Orange we went here
Had a 7 course meal - 6 beers and a piece of cheese
Then we headed to Dubbo via Wellington and did a tour of the old jail
That was our final night as the next morning we were all going our separate ways - big thanks to Lou as Leslie Mercieca from the NSW club for organising and hosting this years aftertour

Re: 2019 Nationals
This morning we made an early start as we wanted to get to Broken Hill in time for some sightseeing-750km away so off we went at sparrows, we still have way to go to get home !
All alone today, no FB/EK to look at either in front or in the mirror
Made good time to Cobar
Then straight to Silverton for a look at the Mad Max 2 museum
This poor old girl is out there - rusty as buggery but still has some good bits , the bloke who owns it probably wouldn't want us pinching them though ....
A quick beer at the pub and then off to meet up with Gaz and Stoney in Broken Hill

Re: 2019 Nationals
You’re having the time of your lives, good on you. Kudos to the van towing fb drivers. Either side of Cobar is good for longish stints of WOT specially if you’re heading away from the big C though I remember the beer being nice and cold there.
I wonder if Mario’s Palace Hotel is still going up at the Hill.
You’ve got a nice drive ahead through the southrn flinders. No shortage of points of interest, not to mention the odd antique store.... Shhhh....

Streaky is great but all the sights involve dirt roads
