Went to adjust the headlights on the Ute but the adjusting screws were rusted and snapped. Made up a fix by turning up some brass threads to tap out to 5/32” UNF screws. I couldn’t find 3/16” so these should do.
Cleaned up the headlight bucket, then soldered both sides, ran a round file through the hole so the brass was a neat fit. Pushed it through then soldered them into place with silver solder, they won’t go anywhere.

Old parts, with new machined replacement parts.

Cleaned up and soldered in both sides. Can now adjust the headlights (aka high powered candles
) from spotting possums in the trees to back on the road.

Happy New Yesr All
Made up a rear rack and recycled an old roof rack so I can carry long loads. Put the old heap to work picking up some 3.0m sheets of timber and some insulation for the shed. Then back out to pick up a heap of steel brown built shelving. Daughter reckoned it rode better with a load of steel in the back
Well used and occasionally abused

Stephen
