Doesn't really matter what the numbers mean, It matters what condition the car is in and if it's what you will be happy with.

Any pic's?

I started searching for an early Melbourne built car due to the fact my late dad owned one from new.
The reason I suppose numbers are important to me are because my grandfather worked at GMH until his golden handshake after 50 Years service and always got dad cars as soon as they released, so thinking that he could have been part of that cars genesis is great.

As soon as I learn how to post pics of the car I'm looking at using an iPad , you'll see them

There are still a few things 'strange' about those numbers.

Is it possible to post the TRIM number off the body ID plate ?

Sorry guys, but I've another FB I'm going to have a look at and have some numbers I'm stuck on too.

If I could post pictures I would as I have one of the ID plate. Any how here goes.

FB/225-5317M
Paint 253-9368 :erm:
Insert 253-2295 = Desert Glow
Top 253-9368 :erm:
Trim 324-888 = Mawson (?) & Penguin Grey with Stardust Grey Bolsters

I've checked the chart and RobinGi's info and I still can't find the 9368, which have been checked& double checked. The only thing I could think of is that it is a mistake and it should read 9638 = Sandstone Beige???

Here is the link to the car I'm looking at

http://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/aspendal ... 1038344707

Was this a common combo? Also could someone tell me what colour is Mawson? Is it green?

This car was brought by the current owner from Skye, Vic

Any info would be great.

Thanks heaps Tim!!!! Unfortunately I think I've found another bad egg as this has a green interior and the car has definitely been repainted. The owner was very honest and also told me it needs new floors, so my search continues.
