Sunvisor hardware

Hi Guys;
I recently picked up a NOS Sunvisor for the wagon project but no hardware for it would anybody have roof brackets for a wagon and side plates like the ones in the picture below don't need to be fancy with writing or anything plain ones would be great.

The robber over here has a pair of side hardware for $200 seems a bit steep.

Can have a look on the spanner day for roof brackets mate , one of my one day projects is to make a die for the side brackets and press a few - there is a mob selling new sunvisors and I assume they have brackets, it might pay to ask them the question if they sell the side brackets separately??

I got one of the repro visors fom Retro Spares at Eltham Vic. Haven't fitted it (to the van) yet but the side bits are not compatible with coolaride I don't think. Thing about the repros is no roof brackets, which is good for the van as the brackets are hard to get. Not sure how it will go.

I also bought a Coolaride one with side bits. Paid a plenty because it had them. It's a sedan one but will make it fit the ute. Back in the day grandad visors were the first thing we binned when fettling a new purchase.

Any one interested in swapping a pair of sedan roof brackets for Ute ones... or have a pair of ute ones for sale?

I’m in the same boat, but they are pretty similar. Easy to make them fit perfectly with a bit of hammer work I believe. Have you tried the ones you have on your ute roof. Would be interested to see a photo.

Its actually not as far out as I thought it was. I think I will form a bit of 10mm plate to the same shape as the roof then heat the rib of the bracket up and pull it around on my jig to get the shape.

Thanks for the photo. I have to say it is not as good a fit as I had thought. There is a bit of stretching at the front alright.

It was about 5mm gap each end. Ill let you know how I go reshaping them. The bigger dilemma for me at the moment is how to remove the aluminium trim so I can polish it and paint the visor.

Unfortunately I'm not going to make the spanner day our the AGM, Robyn and I will be in the UK by then.

I'll come up when we get back and have a scrounge through the bone yard if that is ok of course "Jacks" will come with me to be left behind
