Picked up a bit of treasure- literally- found a FJ grille badge in a bucket of stuff in the toilet and some nice straight FB door stainless on the ground. Also found what I was really after - a couple of decent horn contacts so we can use them as templates to start making them Image

Then we were off for lunch at a brewery in Tanunda for a couple of sensational stouts and a pizza ImageImage

Today started out as it should , went for breakfast to say goodbye to our FB/EK family and catch up with Stoney, Sherri and Firekraka for our trip home , had breakfast at Tanunda bakery and noticed a puddle of oil under the old girl ( the ute not Mrs Blacky)
We had adjusted the tappers the night before so I figured it was a leaky rocker cover , we headed off and stopped at Nuriootpa auto pro to buy some oil, a rocker cover gasket and some degreaser , got 2 out of 3 then came out to another puddle of oil . ImageImageImage

Had a look and it wasn’t the rocker cover, the harmonic balancer had chucked a wobbly and oil was pissing out the front timing cover seal ImageImage

Neil and Stoney headed off and we limped the ute back to Mike and Anne’s place in Adelaide- Mike had heard on the grapevine we had a problem and offered a good secondhand balancer and all the tooling required to swap it over ImageImage

We got back , and stripped the dodgy one out of the car

Farewell Brekky , just before it turned to custard …..

With the ute ready to accept the new bits we went in search of a new timing cover seal - found one , and a new rocker cover gasket , at only the 5th place we went to ……. So we threw it back together , changed the gasket and she was good to go Image
