Re: Sonic Injection
I have got a Sonic Injection main girdle and crank trigger kit ready to fit to the red rattler if I ever get around to doing the mechanical upgrade on it along with a blower kit from Shane at Barnett performance his stuff is well made but had to wait for it .....
I started with nothing and still have most of it left.

Re: Sonic Injection
I've got the Sonic injection main bearing girdle sitting ready to go on the Meth Monster grey project. Quality looks good, and Sonic were upfront that the girdle will foul the sump. Have spoken to some of the lumpy humpy crowd who were also happy with the girdle.

Re: Sonic Injection
I’m slowly (been doing it for a couple of years) building up a 202 with a 6 throttle body EFI manifold from Sonic Injection. I’ve also got Sonic’s crank scraper, girdle and crank trigger ready to go in.
I’m waiting on a billet crank, then it should be full steam ahead.

Re: Sonic Injection
I have been planning on fitting a sonic crank girdle to the grey motor I am building but I was talking with Eddie Woods from HSD and he questioned if I really want to go down that road.
Apparently the mods required to fit it can be extensive.
Has anyone got any photos of the clearances that need machining on the girdle to clear the crank and rods?
Also when the sump is modified to give extra depth to suit the girdle, will the sump interfere with a drum brake front end or will the engine mounts need spacing up to clear the sump from the front end?
Many questions but this seems to be the thread for it.
Cheers

Re: Sonic Injection
I looked at the girdles for my drag car but settled on some “bearing bridges” due to the reasons listed above.
Is Eddie building your engine? Some of the grey motor stuff they have been knocking out lately has been unreal!

Re: Sonic Injection
Don't know if it would really be required on a "street" motor ? How far are you planning on going with the rest of it ???

Re: Sonic Injection
Have to agree Blacky,
The greys we used for circuit racing when stripped down for service tended to use up bearings and the occasional crank.
Normally cranks broke on the snout main, the blocks themselves never had any issues.
We did use main bearing cap bridges but never any girdles.

Re: Sonic Injection
Yep I agree with all of you and I don’t need a girdle for the motor I am building, it’s really only going to be a warm motor.
I acquired so photos of the modifications required to fit the crank girdle and it has put me right off the idea.
It’s certainly a lot of work to make it all fit and I don’t want sump mods so I’ll just let it slide to the side at this point .

Re: Sonic Injection
Awful lot of buggerising around for precious little if any benefit on a street motor mate.

Re: Sonic Injection
I absolutely agree mate and I’m not going to go ahead with it.
Photos posted as a reference for others.
They way clearance has been cut on the girdle in places make it so thin, really not worth fitting in my situation
