I bought a cheap one off ebay for when we went to the States and picked up my '46 , was pretty easy to use , just buy a prepaid SIM and wire it into an accessory feed in the car to charge it . That was over 10 years ago so no doubt there are far better units out there these days
When you're faced with an unpleasant task that you really don't want to do, sometimes you just have to dig deep down inside and somehow find the patience to wait for someone else to do it for you.

can't hurt to have though as with everything to protect your car the thieves come up with something to get around it and there are blockers that block the signal
sometimes yor just better off shitting in yor hands and clapping
