okie dokie. well i'm pretty confident i've got my head around it now.
-trimatic with drivers side linkages (pref with 360 bellhousing)
-if not, have a trans shop fit the 360 bellhousing for me as they're hard to line up properly
-use the conversion kit from Rodger on ebay (mine has the redrilled flex plate included)
-rear gearbox mount not necessary (spose i can put one in later if i feel the need)
-LJ tailshaft, or have an LH or EK one shortened.
-plumb vacuum lines
-use hydramatic 'box mounts which may need a bit of grinding to clear bellhousing bolts

and the last step...throw it all out and get a 327

thanks dave, RB, Trev, Doug, FB Mad and everyone else who's contributed to this thread-hopefully i'll get the bits together soon and put up lots of photos of the process

Hi Guys,
Got my kit last night and going through the instructions i see the vac line plumbed to the manifold.
How have you guys with Brake boosters set up both?.
Can you post some pics please.

That will work. Otherwise you will need to tap an additional port in the manifold or depending on carb setup you may be able to use a port on the base plate as manifold vacuum can be obtained anywhere between intake port and throttle butterfly.

I found that the upper holes on either side accept the Hydramatic gate bolts, so just added a pair of tee screws for the bottom two holes. HJ donor.Image

Neutral safety switch bolts up from memory. Just make up a key which bolts to the shift arm.Image
HD HR Powerglide quadrant fits in the frame with minor modification, giving correct shift pattern. John Rayner at Lismore has a few as I recently bought one on gumtree.
