Time to dust off my EK!
Re: Time to dust off my EK!
As a country car it might be ok but I'd be having a tap around the subframe and other places with a screwdriver and a hammer....

Re: Time to dust off my EK!
Just a few pics i took the other day....progress has been slow now I'm working fulltime ....sigh.....
Looks like it had a whack on the rear ...or a couple .... the left rear quarter mright have been replaced at some stage ....as previously suggested ....doesn't seem to have the same red oxide coating under the paint...
used a pair of panel pin pliers to gently squeeze the letter clips in and push them through whilst they were threaded onto some wire to remove them without losing or breaking any !
More later

Re: Time to dust off my EK!
First I got a job, then came along a girlfriend, and sadly my spare time hasn't been all that spare lol !! I have done minor work on it over the past few months. I give it a run up the road once a month and try to start it up once a fortnight. This weekend i have the missus away and now the heatwaves over its time to hit the shed again. The hope of driving it to Cowra for the nats has faded, but it might make it on a car trailer :/
Re: Time to dust off my EK!
Ya still got 3 months Marty , head down , bum up !!!
When you're faced with an unpleasant task that you really don't want to do, sometimes you just have to dig deep down inside and somehow find the patience to wait for someone else to do it for you.

Re: Time to dust off my EK!
Hi Stewart, it's pretty much still as it is in the above photos, i need to take off the front guard moulds, (broke a pin off the left hand special badge trying to remove it since dad used good old plastibond in place of clips lol) so i have to jack up the car and remove the wheel to do the right side using a wire wheel on the dremel. Remove all the front chrome then remove the front and rear windows, and sand the whole car down by hand ...
Panel beater mate wants me to get all the same wheels and tyres on it so he can align things better (currently has two mags and two stockies)... and then he will knock out some dents in the roof and do the rust repairs.
Thinking of yanking out the motor for a tear down and installing at least a new timing gear before its prepped for the repaint.
So yeah a lot of stuff lol ....
At this rate i think it'll be a 5 year project
But its safe and snug in the garage, and all the bits are tagged and bagged

Haven't signed in for a while, came today to check where I got my wheel cylinders done for a friend.
Sadly there is not a lot to report, the ol K bird is still sitting in the shed hasn't been started for maybe 8 months and its been awhile since it was driven/ lots of other things on the go but been thinking I need to work on it... It might do my ocd some good haha
