Gents,
We all love anything on wheels, so I couldn’t resist sharing this I spotted at a mates workshop in St Marys NSW.
It is his dads 56 Pontiac (not sure what model)
His dad has had it since new, and the condition is just stunning.
Under that dust t is still super shiny.
It has 60,000 miles on the clock, and has only travelled 6,000 miles in the last 35 years.
He is getting her on the hoist & fully waking her up, and ready to drive.
V8 3 on the tree.
The interior is all original except the front carpet.
So nice.

I have to say I have never seen or heard of one of these before.
I’ll keep you guys posted as progress is made with her awakening.

What a ripper Ric. The front chrome work design is crazy!

Re: Spotted in St Marys NSW
Pretty cool John,
My brother in law said the bonnet chrome was called the “Pontiac Waterfall”
I really like the bumper bar as well.
It seems the car was indeed called the Pontiac Chieftain, but in Australia that model seems to have been
called the Pontiac Super Chief.
Looks like for 1956 it had a 316CI V8, and plenty of body styles.
Here is some interesting reading.

Interestingly, it mentions the 1957 models were also sent here as CKD and assembled by Holden.

Re: Spotted in St Marys NSW
Great reading. General Motors C body styling reminiscent of the Buick Roadmaster, Cadillac and Oldsmobile of the early fifties. Not to mention FE FC in a much scaled down and relatively austere version. Living rooms on wheels.
