First thing was to get the steel plate out of the back and see what’s underneath. Image
A lot of sawdust and bull dust. The only real rust in the body seems to be around the fuel tank. Image
Which is supported by angle iron cross members front and rear.

The tailgate looks to be off an FC or FE. Image
The seat vinyl is very brittle but the padding and springs aren’t too bad. Image
FBs are a whole new world to meImage

I’m going to rinse out the tank, blow through the fuel lines. There is fuel in the pump bowl. I’ll pull the plugs and get some oil in her. Off to Kmart for a battery. Whack a spare dizzy in the 186, put the manifolds back on and see if she’ll go. I have to wait until the weekend as I’m off to Pt agutta for work again.

Clay overall looks like a great pick up mate
It is an FC tailgate by the look of the 3 holes on the back, does the latch mechanism have 4 screws where the rod comes out the side or 2, FC has 4 FB EK have 2, only way to really tell because the tailgates were identical in all other ways if it has 2 screw then somebody could have put an FC badge on the back.

But as I said great pick up will look forward to seeing where this goes mate everybody says "I'm just going to give it a quick clean up"

Clay,

I got the Bosch headlamps last night. They even come with bulbs and the mounting ring.
The headlamps are held into the mounting ring with three clamping tabs and screws, secured from behind. The reflectors are OK, but not in tip-top condition.
What's the arrangement for mounting the headlamp into the buckets in your ute?

Heh Clay, more than happy for you to join the SA club.
No additional cost for club rego as I have heard other clubs adding $ if you want club rego.

Hurry up and licence it and you can mosey over to Mandurah in June with the rest of the croweaters
