How good are long weekends ! got heaps done but have slowed up because of rust.

The last pieces of the dreaded rubbish, very time consuming.

Rebuilt the bracing on the passengers and have finished it off.

Cut the top off the drivers guard because of bubbles and so began a full rebuild, rust cut out and a second hand donor piece pulled apart sand blasted and rewelded back into place. checked the gaps and then ran out of time. Ive just got a small filler part to weld in then that is done.

I hope everyone had a good time in Tassie, its a pretty place that's for sure. WA that's exciting !!

Thanks guys,

I appreciate the encouragement.

Chipping away, all the rust is gone and I've lined up all the panels, next is to tidy the engine bay and then the real fun begins !

I have maroon, green, blue and coral panels and still have no idea what colour to paint !! Oh well need to make up my mind soon.

Well,

Photobucket has dumped all my photos as well so I will just paste some teasers here for now and maybe go back and edit all the thread. Big job I know if it works.

Testing the paste

Bloody door gaps !!!!!

I'm just over it at this stage, they are the worst car for alignment of the doors, some fit and some don't !!!

Anyway the last of the body work, one more fit up and then start thinking of getting the spray gun out.

So what seems to be way to much time spent on door gaps, I'm almost finished the damn things !

My wife goes what have you done all day ? I look at her with disbelief !! Look at the doors and the alignment, she goes look where !!!!

Anyway hours of fun to be had fixing door gaps on an EK holden what can I say.

I had to cut the rear window frame down and extend the front frame, 1mm makes all the difference.

I also started the front guard, originally I thought it may have been damaged in a prang and the sub frame was out but after looking at the pressing on this particular guard it is easy to see where its just not quite right, anyway chop chop weld weld grind grind !!

When you're faced with an unpleasant task that you really don't want to do, sometimes you just have to dig deep down inside and somehow find the patience to wait for someone else to do it for you.

A bit more done today, the last panel I need to check is the bonnet and then that's it !!!!

So I did the front guard gapping ( you all know how much I love doing this )

I'm really not sure what way to go yet , run back and forth 80k's to the nearest spray booth or bite the bullet and build a temp one as I do have the room.

Anyway enjoy
