Rear measurements.
Rear measurements.
Hi Guys. Just wondering if there are any body/chassis measurements anywhere. The ute I am working on has an alignment issue in the rear. I believe I know what it is just need to confirm. A measurement from the outside of the rear spring hanger without any attachments should tell me the story.
Thanks

Hi Chimp;
Welcome to the Ute brigade mate.
Not sure if you have a manual but the manual does give some body dimensions, I don't have the manual with me but can have a look tonight if you want or maybe somebody else will have a manual handy and be able to supply what you need.
Regards
Neil H

Re: Rear measurements.
Hi firekraka. Need any measurements relating to the rear end. Underneath and on top. I know they are all different due to manufacturing. This car is actually for a customer who has become a friend. The car was really bad for rust, plus some sections were not aligned correctly before welding at the factory. Now chasing my arse making the tailgate fit. I work from home doing restoration work. 25 years in smash repair, plus all the weekend work doing restos made me concentrate just on resto work. The ute is on my Facebook page:- Lance's Auto Body Restorations. Any info much appreciated.
Re: Rear measurements.
Hi Mr Chimp,
Nice metal work on the ute !!
Centre to centre on the rear spring hangers on my sedan is exactly 1 metre, I'm assuming the ute will be the same as they ran the same floor pan apart from the fuel tank and spare.
Regards Greg

Re: Rear measurements.
You guys are "ALL LEGENDS".
I have worked out what is wrong. I previously replaced an inner rear support panel. I put the new one where the old came from, turns it was wrong from factory. Now need to source another one or start fabricating. Because the one I fitted was MIG welded it was ruined taking it back out.
I have found the factory issue when I was removing the tray floor on the right rear. It let go with a "BANG" because it was under so much pressure. Have only had panels do that on smash work.

Re: Rear measurements.
OK. Is anyone willing to part out the section on the right hand rear, between the tray and chassis rail. It goes around to the back and has the tailgate hinge mount on it. I could make it, but if I can find one in good condition I will go that way.
Thanks
