2 door window belt

Post by kel3629 »

Hi All
To those clever people who have converted their FB or EK into a 2 door, can someone tell me what door belt do you use?
Other than the obvious cutting & shutting are there any other traps for new players that I should be aware of in the conversion process
Don't want to start the grinder up quite yet
Thanks
Kel

What do you mean by door belt ? I had scuff plates made by the bloke who makes the stainless ones and bought all my door rubbers from Rare Parts in Perth.

It's not rubber. Buy off the shelf and cut to length.

Methinks what Kel is referring to is the bailey channel. Normally you buy a Rare Spares kit like this:
http://www.rarespares.net.au/rarespares ... ct=RBC1062
... and cut the channels to length.

Where Kel may have a problem is that for his 2-door conversion, he may have lengthened the doors in order to get the correct 2-door proportions. The new bailey channels in the kit may be too short. Best to measure, then give Rares a call and see how their kits size up. They may be able to supply the identical channel from a longer kit, or individual lengths to suit.

Cheers,

I got mine from Rare Parts in Perth - as others have said Rare Spares etc should be able to supply them in whatever length you need
