I have recently read "Broken Lives" by Estelle Blackburn. What a creepy rotten guy that bloke was. He stole a lot of holdens and other cars and ran over and shot a lot of people, during the night, and was a friendly likeable fellow during the day. Enough of this blackness. Note the HR Taxi in the photo with the 2 seedy characters. Check out the bumper bars made out of steel flat bar. When the cab was sold off, the undamaged chrome bars would be re fitted. Does any one else remember cabs in Sydney with these funny bumpers?

They are great photos fbtim and AB. How could you not drive around with a smile on your face back in those days, with all the colours and styles. Compared to today with shades of grey, black or white all looking the same ......no wonder we're a bunch of grumps on the road. Just look at all those individuals in the old carparks
