Re: Custom ute concept
acheivable but only registerable as individualy constructed.
shorter wheelbase and shortened tub.
cool artwork otherwise.
kinda scares me when art and concept are mated up .
those who want whats been created and dont notice the major changes that got hidden in art spend their lives for years and cant acheive the goal.
i guess the learning is to enjoy artwork for what it is .
wow i sound pessimistic .

Plenty of people start doing cars up and don't get to finish them let alone trying to copy a cartoonish drawing!
Everyone can dream I spose .

It's not sad, it's just begging for someone to take it out for a spin...

Hang on Trev.. that would be totally doable (on a REAL ute) just done to the original scale.Trev wrote:Plenty of people start doing cars up and don't get to finish them let alone trying to copy a cartoonish drawing!

I can see where Steve Brown is going with this, as for cartoonish..well most of MY stuff looks that way!!

Re: Custom ute concept
Looks much better with the paint detail around the grille in the second pic. Love the tall, skinny chromies with the white-walls, but not a big fan of painting the inner guards white.

They aren't painted white, they are upholstered.

Re: Custom ute concept
easy to get around find some type of short chassis to suit the wheelbase regoed as a rebodied what ever the chassis is fromHarko wrote:acheivable but only registerable as individualy constructed.

I've allways said and been shot down for it before that how ever cool a drawing looks is very hard to get an exact of what the car will actually look like due to not being exactly to scale
sometimes yor just better off shitting in yor hands and clapping

Re: Custom ute concept
thats atleast doable in the real world now scotty.
the first one looks awesome , kinda looks like that hotrod with the bubble roof put under the ek feature elements.
that artist who appeared in street machine who was joining up different makes and models without proportion was interesting and annoying to me , just rediculous i suppose , theres no means to an end there.
but i guess as a builder of this type of changing proportions stuff i know the effort it takes and can more easily see the bending of proportions that can or cant work without a shipload of work.
i know you were a little disgruntled when you spent the time doing the rendering of the coupe scotty and all i wanted to do was change it , i just wanted to see what it would be like realistically and not in the proportions of art.
love art ,hate artistic concepts

P.s. This is a fine forum. I liked the article by Mai-Ki-Ki on Celica 5 speed install. I have an FJ sedan project. I also do car portraits by e-mail order or on- site- check it out here;
